About us

What We Offer

  • In-person community learning events that are highly considered and bespoke to meet the needs of our young neurodivergent and disabled members and their parent/carer.
  • ‘Community-building’ events to support friendships and support networks and have fun together, such as an annual summer party, termly silent disco and days out together (in planning stage).
  • High standards of adapted teaching delivering the national curriculum (Key Stage 3 currently) and more in a neuro-affirming way. We have written our own bespoke educational pedagogy for our amazing community members that’s 360 degrees reviewed and updated quarterly.
  • No rewards or punishments and no ‘behaviour policy’ – just community guidelines that we have created together that work because they make sense.
  • Not focussing on pressure loden ‘goals’ as a mentality, more on organically progressing holistically. As we feel safer in our community, we learn to trust again, feel less isolated and more connected, develop friendships with peers that understand us and enable reclamation of natural openness and enthusiasm for learning. Because learning was never the issue, it was the environment and modality of delivery. It was whether the material was aligned with the passions of the learner, on whether resources and environment were responding dynamically to the users of that environment. Children and young people need to feel free not trapped. Ironically, as so many have already found out, pressuring children to learn in ways that triggers a stress response, does not they are then able to learn again and meet higher ‘goals’ than we may have thought possible.
  • This journey is mirrored by our parent/carers, over time they/we are spending time with others with very specific experiences.
  • A PDA-friendly community – we incorporate the panda approach: https://www.pdasociety.org.uk/what-helps-guides/pda-approaches/panda-as-a-way-in/ and all teachers have attended accredited PDA training.
  • A digital and secure educational journey using https://tapestryjournal.com/ with ongoing ‘adapted assessment’ against the national curriculum that allows ‘very spiky learning profiles’ to be captured well, enabling an ongoing understanding of what and how they are learning for raised educational outcomes.
  • Bespoke areas of holistic learning for your child captured in their own individual educational journey that you and your child measure together with as much input as you feel is right.
  • Planning, assessment and learning events that are compatible with or without EHCPS (education and health care plans) and IEPS (individual educational plans). IEPS can also be created together.
  • ‘Radical acceptance’ – we welcome people as they are and together work out the ‘glimmers and triggers’ for each of our members together, so we can be as accessible as possible for them.
  • An understanding that behaviour is an expression of feelings and needs and we choose to respond with warmth and care. We prioritise safety and do not permit violence, aggression towards members.
  • Low cost – we remain as low cost as possible and operate on a ‘not for profit’ basis.
  • Online courses and resources: coming soon!
  • Advocacy and awareness: We participate in campaigns, forums and workshops dedicated to promoting disability acceptance, dismantling stigma and building inclusive learning environments.
  • Resource library: Access a curated collection of articles, toolkits, videos and links to external organisations focused on neurodivergent education and support (being planned currently).
  • Comprehensive solution for young people with an EOTAS (education other than at school) package. Please see our ‘EOTAS Club’ page.
